“ Decided to have something simple and warm for dinner, so Ramen was our definite choice. Crossgates mall was definitely busy but going there was worth the visit. Mother and daughter dinner date was so fun! The restaurant is open and airy, with a very nice mall bar. There is dinner table and cook your own hibachi dining. Started our meal with a Kazan-tini, Grey Goose, soho lychee, triple-sec, lime and cranberry juice. That got our evening off right. We had deep fried pork belly as an appetizer, enough for two. Being from Hawaii, had to order a side of white rice to go with it. As stated, we opted for a create our own ramen bowl. I chose noodles with the shoyu (chicken) based broth, pork belly, bok choy, bean sprouts and cilantro. Hit the spot! My daughter ordered the Tonkatsu (pork) broth, double noodles, beef, bok choy, zucchini and soft boiled egg. We were stuffed, but, comfortably so. Presentation was beautiful. Our server Dan was super attentive . Great meal, simple but filling. ”
“ Went to lunch here with a friend. The mall was busy but Kazan was not. We got very good service and the food was better than expected. I got the chicken stir fry. It was a nice mix of petite veggies, chicken and noodles. The flavor was light and tasty. My friend got shrimp fried rice which she said was very good. Her portion was a fair amount larger than the stir fry but it was enough for a hardy lunch. I would recommend. ”
“ The place is big and clean. Service is awesome. Our wait staff is Ivy and she is very attentive and preofessional. Ramen is good, so is the sliced pork, so tender. Tthe broth is tasty. I would want more miso taste though. The shrimp tempura are cery crispy. They just put too much batter on them that you cant tell the shrimp anymore. They serve this with the yum yum sauce and chili sauce but i think it should be the tempura sauce. The california roll is just OK. Flavored Hot sake is really good. Not too strong. This is inside the crossgates mall so lits of parking. ”
“ This is a great place for Korean BBQ! It's in the mall so already very convenient but it's still very spacious inside with unique projection wall art in the back to complete the ambiance. The first time we came I tried one of their ramen bowls and I can't honestly say it was the best I've had in Albany but it's definitely sitting pretty in second place. The main event is the Korean BBQ, very affordable in my opinion especially if you are on a date or even with a small group as they have some set deals that come in handy but of course the regular ordering options are available as well. The food is yummy every time and with plenty of options you'll never get bored! I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a date night, small get together or even to sit at the bar and people watch haha! ”
“ I actually think this place is quite decent. There were a number of dishes that tasted quite good, including a ramen dish with a nice pork broth and a nicely cooked soy-sauce egg. The rolls were good as well, though the rice could have had more vinegar flavor with, and could have been a bit stickier. The rolls were generally very fresh. The restaurant has high ceilings and excellent service. ”
“ My favorite ramen in the capital region!!! They have the best homemade noodles, tastiest soft boiled eggs and delicious broth. They have several different ramen flavors which I'm excited to try. Tonkatsu- the best ramen broth, not too salty, and extremely flavorful. They include 3 thick slices of pork belly, and the soft boiled egg! A great deal. Plus delicious thin noodles. Shoyu - a lighter broth but does the trick if you're not in the mood for a heavier thicker Tonkatsu broth. Black garlic oil- highly recommend with ramen! It adds an additional dimension which I haven't found anywhere else in Albany. Habanero chili oil- spicy with a big punch but an excellent flavor Overall Kazan is a must try. The ramen is easily the best in the area and resembles ones I've had from Japan ”
